The Lo Shu square is a 3x3 grid from ancient Chinese tradition. Its numbers are arranged as 4 9 2 on the top row, 3 5 7 in the middle and 8 1 6 at the bottom. Every row, column and diagonal adds up to 15, which is why it is called a magic square.
In numerology, the digits of a birth date (written day, month, year) are placed into the matching boxes. Zeros are ignored. Some readers also add a driver number (the birth number) and a conductor number (all digits added and reduced).
Once the digits are placed, readers look at which numbers are present, which are missing and which repeat. These are traditional ideas used for reflection. They are not scientific findings and they do not predict events.
